Central Middle School's Pep Club hosted the last dance of the year on April 24th. The Spring Fling was a decades dance where students were encouraged to dress up like their favorite decade.
Student were given one free meal at the dance and then were also able to buy additional treats. The dance also included a photo station where photos were taken with modern cameras as well as with a vintage Polaroid camera.
The highlight of the dance was the election of the Spring Royalty. Students were nominated by the whole student body and then voted on by those that attended the dance. This year the royalty was crowned by the winning royalty from last year, with special guest appearances by the returning King, Elijah Cunningham, and Queen, Star Hines, who are now ninth graders and no longer attend Central.

Spare Change for Real Change
Central Middle School's group Enough is Enough that works to end violence, hosted a Quarters War between the three grade levels. Students were encouraged to bring in quarters for their grade level's bucket. The funds collected will be going to the Keeler Women's Center to support people effected by domestic violence.
The grades had only one week to collect the funds, but CMS students stepped up in a big way. The 7th grade raised $66.26, 8th grade earned $74.08, but 6th grade pulled out all the loose couch cushions and raised an amazing $122.36. Total funds were $262.70 that will be donated to the shelter.
The sixth grade students will be getting a field day as a prize for their hard work and generosity that is scheduled to happen on May 8th.
The CMS Enough is Enough group is only in its second year with about 15 member, but the district has had Enough is Enough groups in the high schools since 2018.
CMS Love Pets!
April 11 was National Pet Day, so CMS staff and students celebrated by submitting their pet photos to the Student Council, who put together an amazing slide show of all of our favorite furry friends!
