The End of the Line

As the 2022-2023 school year wraps up, we take a look back at the memories and look forward to the moments yet to come.

Spring Sports

This past spring saw many students come out to share their skills and smiles with us. With some highs and some lows, all the students showed determination and growth as they worked hard in their selected sport. Keep it up Bear Cubs and keep practicing for next year!

Students of the Month

Zawadi Malilo, Antonella Salas Robledo and Mia Camargo

6th Grade: Zawadi Malilo- Responsibility
Zawadi is an excellent student. Academically, she has come a long way this year. She asks questions when she’s confused, and she is always kind to others. She is always willing to help her classmates. She is always smiling and excited to learn. Zawadi is a hard-worker and definitely a joy to have in class.

7th Grade: Antonella Salas Robledo- Perseverance
Antonella is one of those students that fly under the radar. She is quiet and reserved, but is always on task, always prepared, and is consistently meeting the pride attributes. She volunteers to help with many tasks and is a student that may not always stand out in class but is always outstanding!

8th Grade: Mia Camargo-Respect- Proud
I cannot say enough good things about Mia. Mia is always willing to step up and shine when asked to take on the role of a leader. As recently as this week, we were in need of additional help to do lighting for our dance. Even though Mia has never set up or taken down the lights, she worked with another student and Mrs. McPherson to establish the necessary requirements of the job, define her role, and BOOM, she was off like a rocket! This is our Mia. She is humble in nature. She is dedicated to Central and our Bearcub traits. Mia is a natural academic but knows that she has to work hard to maintain her grades. She is willing to put in the time and effort to do so. She is engaged in class and not afraid to reach out if she needs assistance or has questions after general instructions are given. Mia is that student that you wish could stay around for a few more years, just so you can have her lead more incoming classes. I can hardly wait to see where life takes her and what paths she chooses to follow.

Central Figures

The People that Make Central Middle School Great!

Mrs. Reno - by Erick Regalado Camino

Mrs Reno is a science teacher at Central Middle School. She has traveled during her childhood, going through Oregon, Mississippi, Missouri, Kansas, West Virginia, and Ohio. Mrs. Reno got a job in education because she did not like how her teachers taught, so she wanted to be different from the other teachers. The thing she likes the most about her job is her old students coming back after graduation to see. Her least favorite thing is grading papers. Outside of school she like coach softball, spend time with family, and go bowling. If Mrs. Reno had not become a teacher, she would have been an environmental engineer. Something that makes her unique is she collect pig related things. Her advice to students is to ¨Never be never Bb (flat), Never B# (sharp), Always B N (Natural) and be yourself."

Ms. Smith - by Erick Regalado Camino

Ms. Smith is a 8th grade teacher that has has been teaching at Central Middle School for 21 years. She originally wanted to be a lawyer but she discovered she couldn't lie when she had to defend a guilty client so she became a teacher. She loves to read books and her favorite thing about her job is getting to read. She doesn't like grading and immature students. After she go home, she likes to walk her dogs, spend time with family and friends, and of course read great books. Had she not become a teacher, Ms. Smith would have been a lawyer or a politician. Something that makes her unique is she was the year book advisor for 8 years and won a trip to Washington DC to the National Holocaust Museum this summer. Ms. Smith's advice for students would be to "hit the ground running and keep up with your work."
