Spring Break:
How We Love Thee, Let us count the ways

Spring Break was March 14-18, and even though we got an extra day due to an unexpected snow storm on the 10th, (it's suppose to be Spring break right?) the break never seems long enough. Central Middle school students were pulled on what they think is the best parts of Spring Break, and below are the results.

70% of students said they don't travel for Spring Break. Of those that do travel, 36% said they go to see family, with 27% saying they go someplace exciting and 26% going someplace they've never been before.

34% os students said they like to spend their time on spring break socializing and being with friends. Being outdoors and being indoors was evenly split with 26% each, and only 13% of students said they like doing nothing at all on spring break.

Despite the snow day giving us one extra day of spring break, over 43% of students said they don't like having snow during the break.

Student's were asked what their perfect Spring Break day would be like, here are some of their thoughts.

"Go to my favorite soccer park and go to my friends house and go to my cousins house."
- Wilson Garcia, 7th grade

"snacks in the middle of the night and playing video games with my friends."
- Ivan Bernardino, 8th grade

"During spring break my perfect day would include to sleep all day"
- Victoria Meraz, 6th grade

"During spring break my perfect day would include throwing water balloons at my sisters if it is hot outside because why not. And it would also include playing with my dogs because I love them."
-Antonella Salas Robledo, 6th grade

"I'm going to Mexico to see my family."
- Yosari Montoya Gutierrez, 7th grade

"During spring break my perfect day would include going outside to play sports with my siblings and riding bikes with my sister."

Staff vs Students: Basketball Game

On Wednesday, March 9th, during family advisory time, students from the girls and boys basket ball teams faced off against staff members in a friendly game. While the basketball teams put in a lot of effort, staff members won. Below are some photos from the game.

The reason Ms. Sublett got into the education is because she loves kids and seeing their personalities. He favorite part of the job is getting to know the kids, but she doesn't like is trying to help a kid when they don't want help. Movie Review- Turning Red (PG)
by Walter Rosa

Turning Red is Disney-Pixar's newest film that came out on Disney+ on March 11. In the film Mei Mei, is an Asian Canadian girl that is completely normal, that is until she turns into a giant red panda. This is something that has happened to every female member of her family for hundreds of years. Every time Mei Mei has strong emotions the panda in her comes out. Talk about growing pains! She must find a way to live with the panda until the next red moon when a family ritual will remove this family trait, but in the mean time she learns that not all growing pains are painful.

I'd give this movie a 3 out of 5 because there are several scenes showing the craziness of preteen and teenage girls crushing over boys and other 'cringing' moments that come with puberty. Anyone who wants to know what its like inside the mind of a teenage girl would like this film, but beware- it's scary in there.
